$2,000 Per Week (High Season)
Come and make memories with your family at our much loved family cottage that we’ve enjoyed for generations. Soak in the summer sunshine on the patio out back while listening to the breeze whisper through the cedar trees. Let your cares melt away while lounging on the dock or swaying peacefully in the hammock. Gaze at the incredible night sky and count the shooting stars while snuggling by the campfire.
Take the canoe for a peaceful early morning paddle and watch our resident blue heron as he lands on the dock to greet the day. Cast your line off the dock and spend the afternoon fishing. Cool off with a relaxing weed-free swim in the lake. Take in the incredible sunsets from the deck. If you’re up for a walk to town, Bridgenorth is a 15 min stroll away. Dine at Chemong Lodge or grab your morning java at Timmies. Cross the causeway to buy fresh local sweet corn, right from the farmer’s truck. Prepare delicious meals in my grandmother’s kitchen with the fresh produce that you’ve found at our local farmers markets and roadside stands.
This lovely getaway is as great for families as it is for an individual or couple looking for a slower change of pace that is within easy reach of lots of interesting destinations and attractions. We are situated in the perfect location because there is always something to do if you feel like it and if you feel like simply kicking back and taking it easy, it is the perfect place to be, too. We especially love that we are close enough to town to run in and grab something that we need (or have forgotten) but that it feels like we are a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life when we’re at the lake.
We are 10 min drive to Peterborough, home of the lift locks, Canadian Canoe Museum, Peterborough Musicfest, Farmers Market on Wednesday and Saturday, Riverview Park and Zoo, Trent University, Fleming College. Across the causeway is the quaint hamlet of Ennismore, steeped in Irish history and home of the Shamrock Festival/Truck and Tractor Pull in July. Lakefield is a 10 min drive away and offers the Lakefield Lobsterfest and Jamboree in June, the Lakefield Fair, Literature Festival and Jazz Festival in July as well as a weekly farmer’s market.

If jumping into the lake is not your speed, you can wade into the lake with ease over the mixed sandy and pebbled bottom near the shore, or play by the shore in a small mixed grassy and sandy area. Access to the water is easy for launching the canoe, rowboat or our 14’ fishing boat with 9.9HP (extra charge).
The main cottage is partly surrounded by a deck with plenty of seating. We’ve also installed a sun shade for those seeking a break from the sunny days, but still wanting a view of the lake. There are shady areas with grass for those who want to have a game of badminton or volleyball or let the children run free. The hammock swings from two shady trees with a relaxing view of the lake. There is a picnic table near the fire pit for lunches, evening dinners by a campfire or an evening of roasting marshmallows.

Chemong Lake Cottage is a lovely weekend getaway! Our family had an amazing time. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They even provided fishing gears, which was a bonus! We caught a lot of Rock Bass and Sunfish. Overall the stay was very pleasant, thank you! Farzana A. (Aug. 2018)
We had a great stay Ken and the owners were great. We have rented cottages here in Ontario the USA and Europe. This cottage was a cozy, easily accessible, clean inside and the lake wonderful to swim and fish in. I caught a alb Large Mouth Bass right off the dock (released of course). The owners dropped by to provide clean towels and were super people. As this cottage was 30 minutes from our home to its front door, it was so convenient for us. They had WIFI to help with my wife’s work needs and a Timmies just down the street. What more could you ask for? Bernie K.
