Nestled amongst the tall trees, Cottage Among The Pines is reminiscent of Algonquin Park while offering all the comforts of home. Enjoy spectacular views of the lake from either deck or on the floating dock. This open concept cottage has many windows in all rooms including the spacious sunroom which offer lots of natural light while enjoying views of the surrounding nature and lake. BBQ your meals, then choose to dine indoors at the large table, or outdoors at the deck tables. Outdoor space for recreation includes over 1,400 square feet of deck overlooking the lake and a huge floating dock, all equipped with furniture for dining, lounging and relaxing. Spend time on the beach (accessible beginning mid to late August as the water level drops to feed the Trent Severn Waterway System) or on the lake – go for a paddle in the canoe or kayaks provided for your use, or simply enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake. For evening relaxation, settle in at the fire pit close by the water and marvel at the night sky while taking in the night sounds of nature.

Eels Lake is one of Kawartha’s best kept secrets. There are no Eels in this deep water lake. The name comes from “Eel Cow”, an anglicized Ojibway name. Eel Cow was an Ojibwe chieftain who claimed this area as his family’s hunting and fishing territory in the early 1800’s. The lake is 11 km long and has 62 km of shoreline with over 60 percent of pristine crown land.

TESTIMONIALS

The cottage is in a beautiful location, secluded. We loved the incredible view of the lake. The cottage was clean and gave us plenty of room to spread out. Everything we needed was provided in the well appointed kitchen and we loved that there was a dishwasher! The wrap around deck and dock gave us many options to enjoy the outdoors and we enjoyed the use of the kayaks. —Bellington Family (Jul 2023)

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cottage Among the Pines. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. The views were great. The lake was quiet, and we did some fishing. —Stephanie C. (Sep 2022)

The cottage was lovely, very well kept and comfortable. The different levels of decks and the massive dock were great. Will definitely return.  —Michelle C. (July/August 2021)

Beautiful lake , great cottage overall wonderful experience. Friendly and hospitable owner. Scott H. (July 2021)

We had a great time at this cottage. The water was very deep to accommodate swimming and boating of all kinds. There was no walk in entrance to the water available as advertised. This is a great cottage for those who love the water. We had seniors with us who were not able to enjoy the area to its fullest as they were not able to take walks do to the terrain. The cottage itself is outstanding! It’s a beautiful building with wonderful amenities. We were able to make some great meals. The DVD selection was excellent for those rainy nights. I would definitely recommend the Cottage Among the Pines and Kawartha Cottage Rentals. —Margaret S. (June 2021)

Beautiful cottage and location. The sunsets were amazing and the views from the deck were great. Nice big dock was a bonus for us. —Erin P. (June 2021)

The sunsets are to die for. Everything you need for a great cottage experience. Location is wonderful, and wow is the kitchen well stocked, and organized for all your cottage meals. Can’t wait to get back! —Drew Dudley (June 2021)

Great spot, great waterfront, great lake, great cottage. We loved it. —Stephen G. (Sept. 2020)

We loved the side screened in porch. We had a few issues but they were remedied very quickly. We own a cottage ourselves so are very aware of quirks that cottages have. The cost was reasonable. We are building a cottage on our property so this rental was in an ideal location from where we are building. It was less than 10 minutes away. The beds were comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great but the temperature of the water needs adjustment. Water shoes are needed for going into the lake. The water was clean and good for swimming. It was close to Fenelon Falls so we could easily go out for dinner and get groceries. The neighbours were really delightful and we met several people in the community when we walked our dog Winston. The view was really pretty. The swans visited our shore on a daily basis. They were beautiful. —Garry M. (Aug. 2020)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cottage Among the Pines, the cottage was exactly as described and the outdoor seating, decks, dock, and scenery were breathtaking. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had and we will definitely be looking to stay there again next year. —Colin D. (July 2020)

Cottage Among the Pines was a perfect getaway for our group of 12. The cottage itself was very clean and cozy inside, while the ample deck and dock space provided lots of room for our group during daytime activities. Eels Lake was beautiful for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. My only complaint was the intensive application process but aside from that, I have no complaints with my stay here.”—Anthony M. (Sep. 2019)

We loved your cottage and had such an amazing time! It is a beautiful location and cottage. Our family and friends made some wonderful memories together that will last a lifetime! The decks and dock were so great! They allowed us to spread out and have so much fun. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The sunroom and views were exquisite! The lake was great! We used the kayaks, canoe and fishing boat. Plus our boat for waterskiing, tubing, knee boarding and also had a stand up paddle board. So much fun! Having coffee every morning on your dock was a highlight to my day! —Sandra (Aug. 2019)

Wonderful weekend. The cottage is very clean, organized and Comfortable. Lots to do for a day without having to leave such as canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. The water is pristine and the area isn’t crowded or noisy. Like another review, the rental process felt a bit invasive. One unexpected issue was the gravel road- you spend about 20 mins on a narrow, and ups and downs. The cottage is difficult to find in the dark and I recommend the owners to put signs on the road just as the other cottages did. Garbage- the garbage dump is about 30 mins away and you pay $1 per bag. Regardless, wonderful weekend and very happy with the stay. —Karina Q. (June 2019)
