Welcome to the Kawarthas at its best on Sturgeon Lake. It is a totally charming four bedroom cottage, renovated to preserve the character of its original 1920’s era and is only 70 minutes from the GTA. It has a full wrap around porch used for dining and view of the lake and the absolute best sunsets in Ontario.

Enjoy uncompromising restoration paired with modern upgrades! Pine flooring throughout except bathroom which has heated slate floors. Stainless steel appliances in kitchen, new casement windows throughout and an amazing sunroom that stretches across the entire cottage that overlooks the lake. Fully equipped kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. From here you can take in the beautiful sunsets while dining or simply lounging around. Puzzles, board games, home entertainment system, upright piano, TV with DVD and VHS only, are available for your enjoyment. There is a main floor master bedroom and a main floor bathroom that has a combination shower/bath, and laundry facilities. The upstairs is equipped with a 2 piece bathroom and 3 generously sized bedrooms. Also, the large screened in gazebo with windows that overlook Sturgeon Lake can be used for eating or extra sleeping for the kids.

Sturgeon Lake which is right in your backyard provides excellent fishing for the expert fisherman or the kids looking to catch their first fish off the extra wide and long dock. Water here is clear, with a pebble/rocky bottom (some weeds) for good swimming or paddle boating. There is a beach (10 min) for those that prefer a sandy bottom base. Mi Casa Tu Casa is in a friendly, established community close to Lindsay. Other communities to explore on Sturgeon Lake include Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and Sturgeon Point where you can spend the day shopping and having a Kawartha Dairy ice cream cone. There is something for everyone to enjoy, and you will feel you’re at home away from home at Mi Casa Tu Casa.

Fish – muskie, perch, walleye, crappie, sunfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, rock bass – you name it, we got it. You can fish right off the dock and, depending on conditions, catch all of them.
We have one of the longest docks on the point and it sits in deeper water – great for swimming and fishing.
Winter activities include ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing and hiking. Spend Christmas with nature’s best… the view is stunning.
Bobcaygeon is just minutes away from Mi Casa Tu Casa and there are certain activities that we recommend you do in order to truly experience our village. You must stroll along Bolton, King, Main and East Streets and pop into some of our great shops and galleries. During your shopping expedition, take a moment at Lock 32 to watch the Trent-Severn Waterway’s oldest swing bridge in action. While you are on Canal Street, stop by our office for some great reading material on the area and a handy map of town.
Located next door to us is the Boyd Heritage Museum, filled with interesting facts and memorabilia on the early days in Bobcaygeon. Continue your history lesson by visiting the Kawartha Settlers’ Village. Located on Dunn Street, this nine-acre property is a village-style assembly of historic homes and buildings. Feel free to wander about and take in the sites. Events, courses and activities happen at Kawartha Settlers Village throughout the year.
There are also many activities for outdoor enthusiasts. We have some of the best fishing in Ontario, public beaches, several golf courses in the area, mini-golf, boat cruises, rentals for boats, kayaks, personal watercrafts, tow-ables, and charters. We have public parks, a ball diamond, basketball, tennis courts, lawn bowling and a skateboard park. If you visit while there is snow on the ground, we have excellent snowmobile trails. Public skating is offered at the arena, click to see the schedule. The Forbert Memorial Pool has public swims and lessons. You can also visit the Globus Theatre at Lakeview Arts Barn, Highlands Cinemas in Kinmount or Century Cinema in Lindsay.
If you are not much of a nature lover, never fear, there is plenty to do. Once you have exhausted yourself in our fabulous shops, museums and art galleries, treat yourself to a massage, manicure or pedicure at one of our great spas. We have a couple of workout facilities, one specifically for ladies and one with a pool. There are also a variety of courses, lessons and classes available for many activities within the City of Kawartha Lakes. We have a bowling alley which also has pool tables. Our village has many restaurants with a variety of foods and atmospheres.
Bobcaygeon offers a variety of events throughout the year including our Spring Social Banquet and Auction, numerous fishing tournaments, opening of the lock festivities, plant and flower sales, home and garden shows and tours, Canada Day parade and fireworks, Jeep jamborees, Ontario Open Fiddle and Step Dance Competition, antique and classic car show, a fall fair, Festival of Trees, Christmas Galas and much more.
We had a great time at the cottage! There was plenty of room to play games on the large property, including our dog who loved to chase a ball from one end to the other. The cottage has all the modern amenities of home with plenty of room for all of us. The outdoor screened in room was ideal for the adults after the kids went to sleep as it was close enough to see and hear if needed, but at the same time, far enough to enjoy the nights outside with little concern for the bugs or wind! The lake is very large compared to what we are used to and we were even able to catch some nice fish! Overall we were “very happy” with our week at Mi Casa Tu Casa. Thanks again for the wonderful week of fun on the lake!
Our stay at the cottage was great! I am honestly struggling to think of any cons. The cottage itself was beautiful, and very well kept. There was a good balance of open space and private space within the cottage. Great view of the lake from the back room, and everywhere on the property. The neighbours were very welcoming. The best part for us was the size of the property. Plenty of room for daytime activities, and I can see this being a wonderful cottage for a big family. Jason Glen (May 2016)

Cleaning service, if requested: $125
Rental rates include all booking fees and taxes, if applicable. Children under 1 year of age are free. If your weekly rental includes a statutory long weekend, the rental rate will be calculated as a combination of the Long Weekend Rate and the regular Weekly Rate.
A 50% deposit is due to confirm rental dates at time of booking (preferred method is Interac e-Transfer).
Outstanding balance + $1000.00 damage deposit is due 28 days (4 weeks) prior to checking in.
The damage deposit will be returned to you by Interac e-Transfer upon check out or once the cottage and property have been inspected by the owner or his designate (within 7 business days).
