Northern Avenue Chalet is a newly renovated 2-story Lux chalet style cottage, clean and pristine. Even though Canadian summers are unpredictable, you can count on the beautiful environment of this cottage- its relaxing vibe, and gorgeous ambiance is palpable. Natural landscaping and chock full of all the comforts of home, you will thoroughly enjoy this stunning home in equally stunning surroundings located on the waterfront of Little Bald Lake.

The lake offers wonderful water time – directly in front of the cottage you can wade in which is great for children and seniors, go for deep water swimming in the main part of the lake, which is also perfect for kayaking.

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION

Northern Avenue is as stunning inside as it is out. If you prefer to cottage in style, this rental is for you!  No roughing it here – savour the comfort in the fully redesigned interior which will feel like a five-star vacation. Although a cottage, it is a fully equipped upscale home, and just that much better for being on the lake. If you appreciate the feel and comfort of beauty and comfort in tandem, you will love this chalet! You are surrounded by its palpable relaxing vibe, and gorgeous ambiance “ahhh – insert deep breath here” the moment you hit the driveway. Natural landscaping greets you amidst ample parking.

You arrive at the front door, enter the kitchen and main space which houses the sitting room with expansive ceilings and overlook from above. The main floor holds two bedrooms and one bathroom. The see-through staircase beckons you to the rear where the property continues to shine – dock, large firepit and coordinating “ice hut’ for the unique pleasure of glamping even closer to the water’s edge. Up the stairs are two more fully equipped bedroom suites and Lux ensuite bathroom. The lower level features a walk out to flat water access, and continues to share in the comfort and delight of a large sectional, secondary family room, TV and two additional bedrooms and one more bathroom.

Sandy beach – about 15 feet

Shallow wading directly in front of cottage, best swimming is out in the lake

Although the Trent Severn is a weedy water zone, the weeds are controlled by using screens and constant maintenance. The waterfront is managed seasonally and the ability to utilize the water is vast. Our family utilizes the water front to wade, and float and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. When waterskiing and diving is preferred, a short kayak or boat ride to the deeper areas is recommended.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY

You are near the quaint towns of Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn featuring the famous Kawartha Dairy, Kawartha Lakes Art Gallery, Bigley’s Shopping, Sandy Lake Beach and more. Sandy Lake Beach is a short drive away and is excellent for children of all ages. There are numerous golf courses in the area.

This is a stunning, professionally decorated ‘glamping’ chalet. Everything is perfectly clean. The style is casual elegance. The chalet is very spacious and well equipped with pretty much anything you could ask for. (I think I was missing a rubber spatula but you know, this is a small detail!) It is actually MORE beautiful than the photos. The owner is very responsive to questions and has a lot of local tips to share. Locally made cupcakes were available when we arrived, okay? This is not roughing it. Ideal for people who appreciate a place and like lots of amenities. Our whole party of family and friends all adored it. I cannot think of one thing I would have changed. The owner was open about the lake being a weedy one but this did not in anyway impact our visit. We went out on the paddleboat and kayak and we understand there are sandy beaches nearby. But to be honest, the place was so darn nice we just stayed there almost the whole time! But the nearby villages of Bobcaygeon and Buckborn are also worth the visit. We will be back! A 50% deposit is due to confirm rental dates at time of booking (preferred method is Interac e-Transfer).
Outstanding balance + $1500.00 damage deposit is due 28 days (4 weeks) prior to checking in.
The damage deposit will be returned to you by Interac e-Transfer upon check out or once the cottage and property have been inspected by the owner or his designate (within 7 business days).

Rental rates include all booking fees and taxes, if applicable. Children under 1 year of age are free. If your weekly rental includes a statutory long weekend, the rental rate will be calculated as a combination of the Long Weekend Rate and the regular Weekly Rate.
