EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION

• 4 parking spots in driveway and many more on the street 
• BBQ with pizza oven the goes over top (there are 2 propane tanks at the cottage, if one runs out, it is the renter’s responsibility to have it refilled or exchanged at earliest opportunity)
• Property is flat, both front and back

• Docks are long and narrow with a larger rectangular floating dock at the end with a ladder to get out of the water – water is approx 6 ft deep at end of dock

We had a very nice time at Sundown Cottage. The owner left us a lovely welcome note along with a binder with lots of info and some do’s and don’ts of cottage life. Immediately upon entering Sundown Cottage, we were greeted with a beautiful, bright open space that leads out to the unobstructed lake view. The kitchen, living room area, and bedrooms are all one level, clean and very welcoming, and had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner.  With little touches of sun hats, blankets, smores ingredients, a popcorn machine and toys for the children, this place really has something for all ages. My children were occupied the whole trip with the “games room” as we called it, in the basement, equipped with a foosball, ping pong and air hockey table, and a nice big cozy couch for when the kids were spent. Let’s be honest, us adults really enjoyed the games too! The outdoor space is as nice as the inside, with a big deck stretching the length of the home, both front and back, nice big cozy outdoor seating for everyone, a firepit, and great grass space for the kids to play. Overall, our experience was wonderful at this cottage, and we will definitely return for another fun, family week(end). -Kerry-Anne (Oct 2021)

Karen’s Sundown Cottage property has the most spectacular view of the lake. The place was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed to have a comfortable long weekend. The house is located on a quiet street so there isn’t any traffic. Karen had made arrangements for activies both inside and outside the house. She was always quick to respond and wanted to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of! Thank you so much Karen for your hospitality at your beautiful cottage. My husband, daughter, dog and I spent a week at Sundown Cottage in the early fall. We loved our time at this fabulous cottage. Even our dog seemed to enjoy it! The home is spacious, nicely decorated, well appointed and clean. We enjoyed walks and sunny afternoons on the deck playing backgammon and taking in the view of the lake and many birds. My husband could comfortably work here as well. The lower level has a large comfy couch, tv and many games to keep you entertained on indoor days like ping pong and air hockey. We had a great vacation at sundown cottage, the cottage was well equipped and spacious with a great game/movie room in the basement. The outside space was large and equipped with lots of outdoor games. The owner had placed mats under the water to reduce the weeds around the lake entry and dock, these worked well although it took some getting used to! We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone else. -Jon (Aug. 2021)

We had a wonderful time at Sundown on Scugog. We had plenty of room for our extended family, and had a blast with all the amenities provided! So many little things were thought of, such as the S’mores station, and bubbles to keep the younger ones busy while we unpacked. Amazing! -Kim T. (Aug. 2021)

We had an excellent stay at the cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful, with lovely bedrooms and lots of space. The downstairs games room was amazing, especially for the one rainy day with the kids. Outside is great, super comfy patio seating in the lovely deck with a great view of the lake. We had dinner there every evening. I really appreciated the awning too! The water was not too cold and the kids really enjoyed jumping off the dock. We also appreciated the paddle boat and canoe and all the inflatables and toys. We didn’t use the bunkie room but it is super cute. So many thoughtful touches everywhere, like the popcorn machine in the movie room, coffee, fans, etc. the owner is very kind and responsive and got back to me very quickly with our questions.
